Endodontics

Endodontics focuses on treating disease, pain and injuries that occur in the root of the tooth when the pulp becomes infected.

Root canal treatment is often needed when the pulp is infected, usually due to tooth decay or damage to the tooth.

The procedure involves extracting the infected pulp tissue from inside the tooth, cleaning it up to ensure no infection remains and filling the space to seal it and protect the root canal from further infection.

Modern treatments are quite often painfree and comfortable and many patients only feel a slight discomfort after the treatment where the tooth will feel a little sensitive for a few days afterwards. This discomfort can be relieved with over the counter medication, and our dentists will be on hand to answer any questions.
